About Us

Woking Dance Festival is an outstanding contributor to the arts and culture in Woking, and the South East of England, with a national and international reputation for the quality of its work.

The organisation presents 3 seasons of dance every year featuring international artists, bespoke commissions and premieres of new dance.  Woking Dance Festival provides local people with opportunities to engage in creative learning and participation projects.  Established in 1995, the dance festival is the largest in the South East region (outside of London).

Recent events include:

  • Winter Shorts 2011: A celebration of live and digital dance in a gallery setting
  • Summer Shorts 2011: A celebration of participation and Outdoor Dance Performances
  • Spring Shorts 2011: A celebration of Hip Hop and Community Dance

Surrey Dance Club: We have just started a social ‘Go and See’ Club with University of Surrey & Surrey Arts, this is an opportunity to see great dance, meet new people and have an enjoyable evening out.

Performance opportunity
We are looking for expressions of interest from artists and companies who wish to perform their own work in Woking park on 7th July as part of the Celebrate Woking event in 2012.

Young Ambassadors 2012

Following a fantastic autumn, Woking Dance Festival is looking for young people aged 16-25 to take part in our Young Ambassadors Scheme 2012. The Scheme will give young people who are interested in the arts an opportunity to get involved with Woking Dance Festival and develop their skills to become creative artists and arts leaders in this FREE course. The Young Ambassadors will form a team of advocates for our Spring & Summer Shorts programme events and lead on shaping some of the activities.
