“Sensational…14 terrific dancers that give a quirky mix of idiomatic movement and ballet technique a sharp, clean edge.”
New York Times
Balancing vivacity with stunning poise, this beautiful, classically trained company of 14 versatile dancers makes its debut in Woking, with an impressive UK premiere. Inspired by four well-loved Russian classics with music by some of the world’s finest composers, Ballet Biarritz presents a fresh new repertoire of breath-taking choreography by Artistic Director, Thierry Malandain.

Pulcinella • Music by Stravinsky
Based on the famous Commedia dell’Arte character, this playful romantic comedy for 10 dancers brims with mischief, humour and hi-jinks.

L’Après-Midi d’un Faune • Music by Debussy
Originally made famous by the legendary Vaslav Nijinsky, this intensely beautiful and physical male solo tells the story of an adolescent faun’s sexual awakening.

Le Spectre de la Rose • Music by Weber
This magical duet opens a window into the fantasy world of a young girl, as she devours the scent of a rose and falls into a deep, romantic dream.

Boléro • Music by Ravel
Powered by the thunderous music of Boléro, this intensely expressive finale for 12 dancers, engulfs the stage with liberating force.

Radiating a pure enjoyment for dance, Ballet Biarritz present virtuoso performances and awesome technique with exquisite elegance and powerful agility.
