As part of the award-winning Radiance project The Lightbox – Woking’s long-awaited new museum and gallery – and Woking Dance Festival have commissioned GLOW, an extraordinary multimedia event fusing light, movement, video, music and vocals, and featuring a 34 metre long kinetic light sculpture.
GLOW is choreographed by Carol Brown with original music written and directed by Russell Scoones and Planet People. With a cast spanning a spectrum of ages, GLOW unites dancers from StopGap and Carol Brown Dances with non-professional dancers and musicians from the local Woking community, to deliver a radiant, collaborative spectacle.
This large ensemble of artists will perform a vibrant processional ceremony leading into the new gallery space. Moving from the outside to the inside, GLOW invites audiences to celebrate the new building and the illumination of the kinetic light sculpture.
Experience a dazzling feast of live music, voices, movement, video projections and dancing light beams in this shimmering promenade performance. Come and celebrate a preview, prior to completion, of the stunning architecture of Woking’s new landmark building which is scheduled to open later in 2007.
