giving a velvety softness to his most jagged of poses.’
THE INDEPENDENT ON RAIZES

The choreography is intelligent and sensitive.’
THE DANCE INSIDER ON O LUNGO DROM
Featuring live music, Brazilian dancer-choreographer Jean Abreu treats you to his original and tantalizing blend of Latin, capoeira and contemporary dance, with two new works.
Inspired by a visit to the Amazon, Aequus takes the audience on a vibrant journey into the heart of the rainforest, rediscovering cycles of nature in a breathtaking fusion of live music, movement and text. In Dialogo, dancer and musician explore the relationship between sound and movement in an innovative and intimate duet.
One of the UK’s hottest young dancer-choreographers, Abreu has won a string of awards for his strong, sensuous Latin inspired dance, including the prestigious Jerwood Prize. Fuelled by the infectious live rhythms of Brazilian music, five dancers ignite the stage with potent muscularity and feline grace.
